The Royal Tyrrell Museum is Canada’s only Museum dedicated exclusively to the science of paleontology. In addition to housing one of the world’s largest displays of dinosaurs, the Museum offers a wide variety of creative, fun, and educational programs that bring the prehistoric past to life, as well as guided hikes in the area.

Towering high above the Drumheller Valley, Tyra the World’s Largest Dinosaur offers visitors a unique and breath-taking view of the badlands. Visitors can climb 106 stairs inside the dinosaur to experience the Drumheller Valley from Tyra’s gaping jaw. At the base of the dinosaur, the Giftshop has official “Tyra” the World’s Largest Dinosaur branded merchandise, with locally sourced items. In addition, our Visitor Information Centre offers exceptional customer service for those visitors requiring information on places to stay and things to see and do while visiting the Drumheller Valley and surrounding area.

Explore the fun dinosaur statues on a mapped walk throughout the Drumheller Valley. Are they scientifically correct? Of course not! Our goal is to make “art” not “science”, therefore many of the dinosaurs and other sculptures are not scientifically accurate. If you are looking for scientifically accurate dinosaurs, you will love a visit to the world-renowned Royal Tyrrell Museum of Paleontology.
